Maytree.com - DiverseCity onBoard
Client: The Maytree Foundation
Task:
The Maytree Foundation created the DiverseCity onBoard program to connect qualified candidates from visible minority and immigrant communities to agencies, boards and commissions and voluntary organizations in the GTA.
In upgrading the existing web application form, Maytree’s goal was to convert it from a simple data collection form to a self-serve, web-based application where organizations and volunteers could be matched up according to their needs and skillsets. In addition, Maytree sought the elimination of a redundant in-house database used for searches managed by their own staff.
Key Features:
The friendly, easy-to-use site will allow organizations to sign up and post their needs, and for volunteers to fill out a survey that tallies their suitability for a given position, or alternately, rates the suitability of a position for the candidate - ensuring the best match for both.
Phased Production:
The project was broken into phases to accommodate Maytree’s need to make portions of the web application available for use as early as possible.
- Phase 1: Volunteers can sign up online
- Phase 2: Information in existing databases ported into new application
- Phase 3: Organizations can post positions and browse volunteer profiles
- Phase 4: Organizations and volunteers can create shortlists of opportunities matching their criteria
